Very rare vintage 1940's large Goldpfeil brown leather cigarette case with brass frame snap closure. Made in Germany's US Zone. After World War II Germany was divided into 4 occupied zones. French, British, US, and the Russian zone. This occupation lasted from 1945-1949. All manufactured goods had to be stamped with the zone's identification in which they were made. This accurately dates this gorgeous leather cigarette case between 1945 and 1949. Founded in 1856 the original name of the Goldpfeil company was Ludwig Krumm AG Vereinigte Lederwaren Fabriken. In 1929 Ludwig Krumm, the original founder, traveled on a luxury train named Golden Arrow. He simply translated this into German and re-named his company Goldpfeil. Known for their sophisticated designs and superior master craftsmanship Goldpfeil maintains a presitgious status as a leather manufacturer.
This leather case has an interior brass frame and push button closure. Two seperate leather strips on the interior allow you to securely store your cigarettes. Case Dimensions are 6.75"W x 3.5"H. It does not appear to have ever been used. Perfectly clean and in mint condition.
