This is especially true for Etienne Aigner. In the early 1930's Etienne Aigner discovered his love for fine leather and started out making belts for established fashion couture houses such as Christian Dior and Edward Molyneux. His work was so popular they soon had him make belts and handbags. Etienne Aigner was the first to design Handbags with the seem to the outside. In the 1950's Etienne Aigner moved to New York City and established his own company. He designed his bags in his famous "rot" (red) and found success almost instantly. I began collecting Etienne Aigner Handbags in the 60's and he is still our favorite.
